Alabama Splash Adventure Adding Comfort And Fun in 2016
November 5, 2015
BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – Alabama Splash Adventure is pleased to announce capital improvements to increase guest comfort and fun in 2016.
Two new rides will be added to the amusement park to offer families even more ways to have fun. Drop Zone will raise guests of all ages nearly 30 feet in the air and offer riders a series of rapid climbs and falls. Up to six guests will be able to ride Drop Zone together, and seats will be able to accommodate riders of varying sizes. Tea Cups is a classic ride that allows guests to sit in super-sized teacups as the ride spins in multiple directions. A giant teapot in the middle adds to the whimsical nature of the attraction as the six teacups rotate at a comfortable pace. Both Drop Zone and Tea Cups are newly manufactured by Zamperla, a leading amusement ride manufacturer based in Italy.
To increase the comfort of park guests Alabama Splash Adventure is partnering with Buffalo Rock and Pepsi to construct an all new Pepsi Oasis. The Pepsi Oasis will be the first of its kind in Alabama and will feature eight drink fountains to ensure that guests stay hydrated and rarely have to wait to grab a drink. “We want our guests to feel comfortable at the park” said Dan Koch, owner. “We want our guests to enjoy their visit to Alabama Splash Adventure and easy access to free sodas is one way we can make that happen.” The Pepsi Oasis follows the introduction of free soft drinks throughout the park in 2015 which has been popular with guests.
In addition to the Pepsi Oasis, Alabama Splash Adventure is adding cooling misters throughout the park so guests can cool off on the hot summer days. The misters will help ensure guests stay comfortable and cool even when they are not relaxing in the many water attractions.
Finally, Alabama Splash Adventure is also improving food offerings in 2016. The all new “The General’s Diner” pays homage to Mrs. Pat Koch, better known as “The General”, the matriarch of the Koch Family and daily fixture at Alabama Splash Adventure. The General’s Diner will feature high-quality amusement park favorites and offer comfortable, air-conditioned seating for guests.
The Koch family made extensive progress since purchase Alabama Splash Adventure in 2014. The owners have introduced free Wi-Fi, free sunscreen, free parking, free tubes, and free Unlimited Soft Drinks. In 2015, the dormant Rampage roller coaster was fully restored and returned to operation.
